“No Where Now Here explores how cultural landscapes are increasingly becoming criss-crossed and blurred due to globalization, shifting borders, and the current migration crisis. What are our perceptions of borders, boundaries, and shared habitats in today’s global climate?”
“The world is seeing some of the largest refugee flows since World War II. The displacement of people from their homes is echoed in Christian Nicolay's newest series of collages, questioning notions of authorship—and ownership—and the seen and unseen. Notions of space and place occur in conjunction with ideas of the temporary and permanent, creating a play between the real and the unreal, the No Where and the Now Here.”
