Katayoon is The Lido’s September artist-in-residence. Through video and music, Katayoon’s residency seeks to evoke the nostalgia and aesthetic of the bootleg VHS market in Iran during the late ‘90s-mid ‘00s, which resulted from a network of low budget studios in Los Angeles operated by members of the Iranian diaspora broadcasting music videos, live talk shows, news and special programming back to Iran.
