SAD x VABF Call for Readers

For the second year in a row, SAD will be hosting a series of readings in October at the Vancouver Art Gallery as part of the Vancouver Art Book Fair. We're on the hunt for emerging writers. Details below!

SAD's Poetry & Prose Editor, Kyla Jamieson, is curating a series of readings during the Vancouver Art Book Fair (October 14-15, 2017). We're dedicated to featuring local emerging writers. In addition to inviting SAD contributors to read, we're also opening applications to all interested local emerging writers.

Apply to participate in the SAD x VABF 2017 reading series by emailing the application information outlined below to kyla@sadmag.ca.

Your email should contain:

1. Name and contact info (phone # and address).

2. Short statement of interest outlining the reason(s) you'd like to participate in the reading series and how this experience would relate to your 2017 writing goals (max. 100 words).

3. Description of a piece you might like to read at the SAD x VABF reading series (max. 50 words).

4. List of up to five publication credits or readings/performances you’ve done. If you don’t have experience yet, that’s fine! Just write N/A.

As an attachment, include a writing sample of 1-3 pages (double-spaced for prose, single-spaced for poetry). This could be the piece you described above or something else.

Applications must be received by August 18th (deadline extended from August 11th). Readers will each read for 5-10 minutes and receive a small honorarium of at least $25.
