Last week, I vulnerably shared how I’ve been indulging in copious amounts of Real Housewives. I still am, but I thought I should balance it out with something a little more intellectually stimulating. I opted for a VIFF Centre screening of 1969’s The Color of Pomegranates, a surreal arthouse piece of Soviet cinema.
If we’re still being vulnerable, I must confess: I fell asleep. Maybe it was the lack of dialogue, the joint I smoked beforehand or the dream-like visuals. Either way, I can’t exactly say I expanded my media diet this week.
But hey, there’s always next week, and Mood Swing has you covered with a full list of stimulating arts and culture events that you will definitely stay awake through. Read on and don’t forget to subscribe to the Mood Swing newsletter to get the list straight to your inbox every Thursday!
