MOOD SWING (MAY 7-13, 2026)

Vancouver was represented at the Met Gala by way of the Matrix-coded matador, Hudson Williams. How bizarre that he and I both went to Langara College, yet only one of us has a spare $100,000 USD to invest in sharing air with Beyoncé! While I was not, and will never be, invited to the Met Gala, the theme of Fashion Is Art certainly gave me pause. I have plenty of permanent art on my skin, but my fashion is that of most Vancouverites: athletic wear chic. I now realize that I’ve been rejecting daily opportunities for creativity and artistic expression in favour of comfort. But hey, at least that’s a bizarre thing I have the power to change. This weekend, I’m challenging myself to hit the town looking like a cheap piece of art. Maybe the events below will inspire you to do the same.
