Cosmic Forecast: June 2026

June is a very social month, one of the few lighter parts of this year, so savour it! Everyone wants to be outside, everyone wants to get along. However, there is an undercurrent of indulgence and fluffiness with one another. By "fluffiness," I mean beating around the bush, maybe even toxic positivity. It's like when you're sad but it's sunny all the time and you minimize your feelings because you "shouldn't" feel sad. There is some illusion to this month because people are more likely to feed each other and themselves with niceties just for the sake of keeping up an expectation of being satisfied. Most of June is full of "bandaid solutions."
On June 1, Mercury enters Cancer and your mental state shifts to reflectiveness and caring more about the body. You are also more likely to hear or say “the right things” which may not carry full integrity. Sometimes it's a necessary evil – for example, spending time with problematic family members who you only see once in a while. People might say all the “right words” to get what they want but they may not mean it; like when you’re on a date with a summer fling and you don’t see the honeymoon filter.
Mid-month when Venus conjuncts Jupiter and Venus enters Leo, these are amazing days to spend time with loved ones. You want to be seen, you want to have fun, you want to capture the sweet memories. The New Moon in Gemini on the 14th reconfirms this social month, however, with more pondering the quality of relationships in our life, as well as overspending. In honour of pride month, adapt queer coded ways of quality time such as spending time in the community garden, bringing art in the park, or getting a tour of the landfill. Make your experiences more worthwhile by adding whimsy and wonder in the mundane!
On June 21, the Sun enters Cancer. The sign of Cancer is very sweet but it's ruled by the Moon, the fastest planet that changes signs every two and half days, who wanes and waxes. This points to the externalization of the sometimes complicated family dynamics and fragility of being human throughout the month. One day you feel on top of the world, the next you feel like a mess; one day you think you got it and the next you don’t.
The end of the month, Mars moves into Gemini and Mercury goes Retrograde in Cancer, which will exaggerate the month’s “fluffiness” in addition to immaturity and speaking with no filter. On the other hand, pay attention to the lightbulb ideas that can show up at this time, as there can be some useful insight into your next steps. Jupiter entering the creative sign of Leo on the 29th brings in energy to put your dreams into action.
Overall, this month, it’s great when everyone feels good about themselves, but when all day every day is opulent, we tend to lose touch of reality. There are pockets we can use to check-in with finances and ground ourselves amidst all of the June fun for a little bit until a lot happens, but it's a good time to check in with yourself throughout the month so we don’t let anyone or a situation ruin the rest of our summer.
Glossary/Legend:
Retrograde: When a planet moves backwards. In astrology, the energy of a retrograde planet turns inwards.
Conjunction: In astrology, a conjunction is when two planets meet and work on a project together. Just like people, the planets may or may not work well together. When a conjunction is exact, it points to a climax of the relationship between the two planets.
House: An astrological chart is divided by 12 houses that each rule different subjects such as the self, home, relationships, and career.
Zodiac:
Cancer: A water sign ruled by the Moon, Cancer is known as being family-oriented, emotional, and nurturing. This sign naturally rules the 4th house, representing fertility, childhood and the home.
Gemini: An air sign ruled by Mercury, Gemini is known for their versatility, curiosity, and need for movement. This sign naturally rules the 3rd house, representing siblings, early education, and intellect.
Leo: A Fire sign ruled by the Sun, Leo is known for their generosity, pride, and loudness. While they can be self-centered, their intention is to be the most reliable person in the room to show up wholeheartedly.
Planets:
Moon: This planet governs matters related to the home, the mother, childhood, and emotions. It is also the fastest moving planet in astrology, changing signs after about two days, which is why her movements are felt on a more personal level, especially on new moons, full moons, and eclipses.
Mercury: This planet governs the mind, including how we think, speak, write and process. Its placement in one’s astrological chart reveals one’s unique style of communication.
Venus: This planet governs matters related to love and material. Its position in your chart signifies your romantic style as well as where you love to pour in your resources in relation to lifestyle. For example, pouring into luxury goods, social events, travel, etc.
Mars: This planet governs your drive and conflict style. This influences how you assert yourself, how you act when you are angry, and how ambitious you are.
Sun: This planet represents the part of your identity you aim to embody in life and it is most connected with your ego. In contrast to the Moon and Ascendant in your natal chart, whose energies show up more naturally, the Sun shows up in more intentional, effortful expressions of self.
