Mood Swing (October 9, 2025)
/A PHOTO FROM OUR LAST SAD COLLAGE NIGHT AT SLICE OF LIFE
It’s that time of year when there’s a real Twilight “hoa hoa hoa” sense about the air. The skies are gloomy, the mist is creeping and everyone is brooding. A younger me may have used this as an opportunity to pretend I was a teenager in Forks lusting after my vampire boyfriend. Now I mostly yearn for vitamin D and dry socks.
But last week, I made a dazzling discovery while sifting through the fossilized mementos of my childhood bedroom: a shiny New Moon promotional image of Bella, Edward and Jacob signed by their actor counterparts. It felt like a sign that I should find that playful joy in the angst (and maybe rewatch the entire franchise).
So hold on tight, spider monkey. Jump into this week’s list of fun, low-cost events to get you through these darker months and don’t forget to subscribe to the Mood Swing newsletter to get the list straight to your inbox every Thursday!
