Cosmic Forecast: May 2026

The month starts off with a more serious tone with the Full Moon in Scorpio, closing out the areas in your life that have to do with taboo subjects, shared resources and transformation. It is possible that you pay off debt, get a job offer or receive news about a loan around this time. Whatever the news may be, epiphanies are bound to arrive, even if only in your dreams.
On a personal level, this month is great for relationships; networking, bonding, healthy debates, organizing and generally connecting with like-minded people. Compared to Aries, Taurus—the next zodiac sign most planets will move into—brings more patience, making it easier to see things through, work together and maintain a sense of stability.
May 6, Pluto, the planet representing transformation and rebirth goes retrograde in Aquarius until October 16. On a collective level, folks will question their relationship to community, humanity and technology. In recent years, we have seen how men in power abuse their positions and make decisions that don’t put the general majority first. Through grassroots movements, change has slowly but surely been happening, and as time goes on during the next 18 years, more folks will become radicalized to rock the boat. Like Capricorn, the previous sign Pluto was transiting from 2008 – 2024, Aquarius is also a visionary with the patience to see things through. However, this sign knows that there is power in numbers and that there is a place for everyone. It would be beneficial to take these few months to reflect on what makes you special and how you can use your gifts to offer them to the world. You can’t change the world on your own, but a little can go a long way.
May 16 looks like a very social day, with the New Moon in Taurus conjunct Mercury, while Venus—the ruling planet of Taurus—is in Gemini and sextile Mars in Aries. It is a great time to feel out a date through light, engaging conversation. If not a cute picnic in the park, the day also supports networking and forming connections with like-minded people, so get plenty of rest and look your best this weekend!
The day after the new moon, Mercury enters its home sign of Gemini, perfect for keeping the conversations going. Think of this energy as when you’re a teenager hopping from subject to subject with your crush just as an excuse to keep talking to them. With Uranus in the mix, innovative ideas come at the speed of light. Perhaps someone delivers an inspiring speech at a rally, or some good news arrives on a collective level.
The end of the month when Venus moves into Cancer and the Sun moves into Gemini, shenanigans of the hotter days and sweet gatherings pick up. Overall, you are more motivated to get along with folks. The days are longer but they are packed with a million things we want to do, and the Full Moon in Sagittarius on the 31st is a great time to reassess your capacity for fun.
Glossary/Legend:
Transit: The ongoing movement of any given planet through the zodiac
Conjunction: In astrology, a conjunction is when two planets meet and work on a project together. Just like people, the planets may or may not work well together. When a conjunction is exact, it points to a climax of the relationship between the two planets.
House: An astrological chart is divided by 12 houses that each rule different subjects such as the self, home, relationships and career.
Zodiac:
Aries: A fire sign ruled by Mars, Aries is known as a natural leader, instinctual and courageous. This sign naturally rules the 1st house, representing the body, approach to life and how you came into this world.
Taurus: An earth sign ruled by Venus, Taurus is known for their sensibility, stubbornness and patience. This sign naturally rules the 2nd house, representing material possessions, values, and finances.
Aquarius: An Air sign and ruled by Saturn, Aquarius is known for their collective mindset, progressive thinking, and being innovative. The unique dichotomy of this sign is having a natural capacity to pour energy into the collective, while keeping their individualism. Freedom goes both ways.
Capricorn: An Earth sign and ruled by Saturn, Capricorn is known for their hard working, cautious, and determined nature. Often incredibly driven to the point of burnout, this sign is steadfast but immovable.
Gemini: An air sign ruled by Mercury, Gemini is known for their versatility, curiosity, and need for movement. This sign naturally rules the 3rd house, representing siblings, early education, and intellect.
Cancer: A water sign ruled by the Moon, Cancer is known as being family-oriented, emotional, and nurturing. This sign naturally rules the 4th house, representing fertility, childhood and the home.
Planets:
Moon: This planet governs matters related to the home, the mother, childhood and emotions. It is also the fastest moving planet in astrology, changing signs after about two days, which is why her movements are felt on a more personal level, especially on new moons, full moons, and eclipses.
Pluto: A powerful planet, Pluto is about transformation. Similar to the Death card in Tarot, Pluto brings intensity as it rules the extremes. It governs very deep emotional processes like control, power, obsession, and manipulation. Pluto transits are ultimately empowering but come with life-altering experiences and permanent change.
Mercury: This planet governs the mind, including how we think, speak, write and process. Its placement in one’s astrological chart reveals one’s unique style of communication.
Venus: This planet governs matters related to love and material. Its position in your chart signifies your romantic style as well as where you love to pour in your resources in relation to lifestyle. For example, pouring into luxury goods, social events, travel, etc.
Mars: This planet governs your drive and conflict style. This influences how you assert yourself, how you act when you are angry, and how ambitious you are.
Uranus: This planet governs change and disruption. Like a shock of cold water to the face, this planet is all about unexpected shakeups and creative innovation. It governs revolution, rebellion, and a general sense of breakthrough!
Sun: This planet represents the part of your identity you aim to embody in life and it is most connected with your ego. In contrast to the Moon and Ascendant in your natal chart, whose energies show up more naturally, the Sun shows up in more intentional, effortful expressions of self.
